Football News !

Pittsburgh Steelers Win! Super Bowl !   21 - 10 !
Seattle Seahawks Come Up Short!

Jerry's Thoughts ....

This years SUPER BOWL was very interesting.  "MowTown" was hopping, the outside weather was damp and cold but in  the dome two of the hottest teams in the NFL battled for the championship.  Pittsburgh won the game but I really think that the final outcome could have been quiet a bit closer if the Officials would have been watcing the game.  It was obvious that the majority of the calls were very questionable.
Grant it, Seattle made several mistakes but more often than not they were not the benifactors of these errant calls (I'm saying this and I'm a Pittsburgh Fan).  The "Hawks had a touchdown taken away and the Steelers had a touchdown given.  An illegal block was called on the Seattle QB while he was attemting to tackle the runner who had just intercepted a poorly thrown pass???  What gives???  Nevertheless the old addage that "the Officials may not always be right, but they are always still the Officials" was quiet obvious.

Willie Parker and Hines Ward were both MVP's in my humble opinion and special awards should go both to Randall EL and Darrell Jackson for their outstanding Play.  Although Shawn Alexander had over 90 yards rushing he only showed a couple of runs indicating his true greatness"Big Ben" gets my congrats for being the youngest QB to win a Super Bowl, "The Bus" gets congrats for an outstanding career, and to "Coach Bill" congrats for "Winning the Big One". "Coach Mike" is to be complimented for having a great season and maintaining his professional composurer in a tough loss!

Finally ...  My favorite commercial was the "Go Daddy Strap Girl"  Note that the network waited until the last minute to give the "OK" for it to broadcast.  Congratulations "Go Daddy"!  Lastly, The Half Time Show left a Lot to Be Desired.  Send the "Rolling Stones" back to London and let them perform at Wimbleton!  When in Detroit we expect Motown's Best! The Diamonds and the Supremes would have brought the House down !!!
